My time left at home is dwindling SUPER fast, so that's exactly what I've been trying to do--make the most of it! There's a ton to get done, and I experience a roller coaster of emotions daily.
Excitement.
Overwhelming stress.
Joy.
Inadequacy.
Gratitude.
Sadness.
You name it. I try to keep my faith and know that it will all be OK, but there's plenty of moments where it just hits me all of a sudden, the oh-my-goodness-this-is-really-happening-super-soon-i-can't-do-this kind of thing. But as my old young women leader and friend said in her talk on Sunday, we have a seed of doubt and a seed of faith. We choose which one we plant and water.
Faith please!!
Reading my scriptures and Preach My Gospel give me just the dose of 'chill-out' that I need, and get me on the right track. Don't get me wrong--I know 100% without a doubt that a mission is what I should be doing in my life right now. How blessed and lucky I feel! Wouldn't trade it for the world.
Tuesday I went to go to a session in the Draper temple, and lo and behold, sitting right behind me is this cute girl!!
I just LOVE Jordyn. She's the most Christ-like person, and just lights up a room. We are both serving in California, and leaving July 17! So I'll see her in the MTC as well. She's so great.Tuesday night, me, Lexe, Challie, Megan, Sierra, and Payton went to the drive-in movies! Ohh it was so fun. We saw Monsters University, and about 5 minutes of Man of Steel before we decided that sitting in a trunk wasn't the most comfortable and we were antsy and tired. Haha but I'm surprised, the back of Megan's car fit three of us! Way to go Mazda.
Wednesday night during work, Megan, Lexe, and Challie visited me! Loooove them. Made my night. Then after work when I was driving to go meet them at Lexe's, they put poppers under my car tires and it scared me so bad when I drove over them! Good one, guys.
At Lexe's we set off some fireworks which was so fun. When I drove away to go home there were more poppers under my tire!! Got me again, scream and all.
My whole life, my mom has worn nightgowns and I stick with pajama pants and a t-shirt. I decided to try out the nightgown life though, and I'm never going back. Haha I love it. Anyways, here's a picture of her and I being cute and twinnie.
I was comparing my graduation announcement and my mission announcement, so many changes in one year!! Never once thought I would be where I am today, or where I'm going!
The Fourth was amazing! Lexe, Megan, Challie, and Megan's friend (don't remember his name...) went to the Stadium of Fire!
Except not really...we just climbed a hill north of the Stadium and pretended we were inside (: We could see the big screen though with Kelly Clarkson performing, and could hear everything, so we were basically inside, right?
It was my first time having these ginormous snow cones! They're so great. It also made me a tinsy bit sad being a BYU campus without my roommates, and knowing that I won't be back for a while!
This was the best pictuer I could get of us laying on the hill...whoops!
I was so over-the-moon happy just laying there with my best friends, watching the amazing firework show. It was lovely!
Lexe moved to college on Saturday. Sad day!! But actually a really happy day, just because I'm so pumped for her! Finally getting to start this great journey, I know she's going to tear it up in Arizona. College is amazing, and Lex is even more amazing! It's a good combo and about time it happened (; love you lex.
I dyed my hair and it turned my roots red... #storeboughtdyeprobs
It's worse in person. I'll be fixing that soon!Friday night I had work, then got home to find a letter from my very favorite sister missionary, Sister Langford!! She is loving it in NY and doing so great.
*total side note here* I have been addressing letters like crazy for my mission announcements, and have been able to start using up my vintage stamps! I'm super happy with the result, and probably had too much fun addressing them...
Why use one stamp when you can use 8? Jokes, I would've just used one but they each are only like 5 cents. Not enough...but 8 stamps gives it a cool look!
Ok, tangent ended. Back to Sister Langford.
Saturday night, I got to hang out with Eliza again finally. We've been friends since 3rd grade (crazy!!) but don't get to see each other or talk very often. But it's one of those friendships where you can just pick right back up where you left off, and don't have to feel guilty or anything about not keeping in contact, ya know? Which is great because sometimes I'm just a bad friend and when I get busy, tend to not be the best at keeping in contact...
Anywho, we got to catch up and it was the best!
We went downtown to Danny's house, but he was at work so we just meandered downtown for a while. Went to Bruge's Waffles and Frites, which is heaven on earth, and just talked a bunch.
The sky was KILLER!
We met up with Danny and drove around. He's also one of those friends where we're really close, but don't see each other lots. I love catching up!! Eliza and Danny are both totally amazing.
Lately I've just been feeling SO grateful for my friends, like I don't even deserve them! Whether it's just making me laugh, like this super random funny text from my girl Arianna:
Or encouraging words from Tanner just out of the blue, and just when I need them.
Eliza posting on Instagram...
And Danny saying possibly the nicest thing he could've said:
Random calls from friends just to check up and chat, supportive words from ward members and family friends, hanging out with all my besties who are always there for me (even when I'm a bad friend!!).
Moral of the story: I'M SO BLESSED. I love you all. Thank you for everything <3
Today in church was difficult...I got a little taste of what it'll be like next week! It was my last time sitting with my family in Sacrament meeting, and my mom's just sitting there crying next to me, so duh I could not keep it together, I was fighting to hard not to break down. THEN she gets up to bare her testimony...yeah. I could only hold off for so long, it was bound to happen #letsbehonest. So the tears came. But I felt the spirit so strong. Love my fam!
K so random, but my friend I met at BYU just texted me a picture of me on Pinterest...
How funny is that? It's been repinned a lot, and I have no idea how it got on there. It's kind of exciting though! Glad people like my little photo shoot (:
Also, I just posted TWICE on my mission blog! Go read up! One post is of my missionary wardrobe, aka the mishdrobe, and the other is a nice little testimony one. Here's a link:
9 days until I'm out of here...wowza.
Thanks for reading!
